TEHRAN -- The Royal Kitchen Museum of the Sadabad Cultural and Historical Complex in Tehran is hosting a photo exhibition displaying oblations during Muharram.

The photos have been taken by Javad Najafalizadeh in various cities of Khuzestan Province in southwestern Iran.

The exhibit runs until December 21.

Making offerings is very common in Iran during the mourning season of Muharram.

The mourning season reaches its climax on Ashura, the tenth day of Muharram, which is the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions.

The Sadabad Cultural and Historical Complex is located on Zafaranieh Ave, near Kamal Taheri St.
